We are blessed with a dedicated and compassionate staff, who strive to provide high quality teaching and learning in a Catholic Christian environment. Integral to our school is the aim to instill a love of learning and a sense of belonging in our students, parents and visitors, as are our values of Courage, Compassion and Creativity. Here at St Joseph's, students are challenged to live out these values each day, both through their work and how they relate to each other.
Our school has a long history in providing a Catholic education to students in Childers. Saint Joseph's was established in 1926 by the Sisters of St Joseph, of which Saint Mary MacKillop was a founder. Our School vision, 'Learning Together to make a difference' is derived from the work of St Mary MacKillop, whose words were 'never see a need without doing something about it'. Here at St Joseph's, these words inspire us to work collaboratively and to our potential, so that we can make a positive impact on our world.
As a Catholic Education leader, I believe that it is my role to lead a school that provides an education combining an excellence in academics with an overall personal development rooted in Christian values. At St Joseph's, this means that every child feels valued and cared for, as well as challenged to question, investigate and excel. This can only be done successfully when done in partnership with parents. Research shows that family involvement in education can make a profound difference to learning outcomes. We encourage parents to play an active part in their child's education and pride ourselves in developing strong relationships with all families.
